सहस्रनामपूज्यः

The one worthy of worship through a thousand names, whose inexhaustible nature requires at least a thousand names to begin to indicate its depth

सहस्र नामों से पूजा के योग्य, जिनकी अक्षय प्रकृति उसकी गहराई को संकेत करना शुरू करने के लिए कम से कम एक हजार नामों की आवश्यकता है

सहस्रनामपूज्य उन्नीसवीं श्रृंखला के दूसरे आधे को एक स्व-सन्दर्भात्मक नाम के साथ खोलता है: दत्तात्रेय सहस्र नामों से पूजा के योग्य। यह नाम उस अभ्यास को स्वीकार करता है जिसमें भक्त वर्तमान में लगा है। भारत की भक्ति परम्परा में सहस्रनाम (हजार नामों का जप) नाम-पूजा का उच्चतम रूप है। गुरु चरित्र में दत्तात्रेय को अपने नामों के जप से विशेष रूप से प्रसन्न बताया गया है।
