कार्तिगाई दीपम उत्सव, जहाँ तिरुवण्णामलाई की पहाड़ी पर एक महान अग्नि जलती है जो मीलों दूर से दिखती है, तमिलनाडु में कौमारी की ऊर्जा का सबसे प्रकाशमान उत्सव है। तमिल संस्कृति की मुरुगन के प्रति गहरी भक्ति - कावड़ी अनुष्ठान, पलनी यात्रा, तिरुप्पुकज़ भक्ति संगीत में व्यक्त - एक साथ कौमारी की भक्ति है। वे युद्ध-जोश की माँ और युवाओं की रक्षिका हैं।
