भूतेशः

Lord of all beings and all elements, sovereign of every entity that has come into existence from the subtlest spirit to the grossest matter

समस्त प्राणियों और भूतों के स्वामी, हर उस सत्ता के अधीश्वर जो सूक्ष्मतम आत्मा से लेकर स्थूलतम पदार्थ तक अस्तित्व में आई है

भूतेश (समस्त प्राणियों और भूतों के स्वामी) में एक दोहरा संस्कृत अर्थ है जो इसे विशेष रूप से समृद्ध बनाता है। भूत का अर्थ है 'प्राणी, जीवित सत्ता' और 'पाँच तत्त्व (पंचभूत)' , दोनों। कर्नाटक के भूतनाथ मंदिर, विशेषतः बादामी का लाल बलुआ पत्थर में उकेरा गया भूतनाथ मंदिर, इस नाम को मूर्त रूप देता है।
