He who carries the Earth within Himself as a mother carries a child

जो पृथ्वी को अपने गर्भ में धारण करते हैं, भूमि के गर्भधारक

पिछला नाम हिरण्यगर्भ (golden womb containing the cosmos) था, यह नाम भूगर्भ (earth-womb, containing the earth) है। भगवान ने ब्रह्माण्ड को अपने गर्भ में रखा है और पृथ्वी को विशेष रूप से। वराह अवतार में भगवान ने पृथ्वी (भूदेवी) को समुद्र से उठाकर गर्भ में रखा। भारत में 'भूगर्भ विज्ञान' (Geology) पृथ्वी के 'अन्दर' का अध्ययन है। भूगर्भ भगवान वो हैं जिनके 'अन्दर' पृथ्वी है।
