भूर्भुवः

The lord of the physical Earth and the astral atmosphere above it

भौतिक पृथ्वी (भूः) और उसके ऊपर के सूक्ष्म वायुमण्डल (भुवः) के स्वामी

गायत्री मन्त्र का 'ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः' (Om Bhur Bhuvah Svah) तीन लोकों का आह्वान है। भूर्भुव भगवान पहले दो लोकों (पृथ्वी और अन्तरिक्ष) के स्वामी हैं। भूलोक (earth) वो है जहाँ हम रहते हैं, भुवर्लोक (atmosphere) वो है जिससे हम साँस लेते हैं और जहाँ विमान उड़ते हैं। ISRO का गगनयान मिशन भुवर्लोक से स्वर्लोक (space) की यात्रा है। भूर्भुव भगवान दोनों लोकों में विराजते हैं।
