वैखानस मन्दिर-पूजा और सेवा परम्परा के प्रकटकर्ता

वैखानस (Vaikhanasa) दक्षिण भारतीय मन्दिरों की सबसे प्राचीन पूजा-पद्धति है। तिरुमला-तिरुपति मन्दिर वैखानस आगम के अनुसार पूजा करता है। वैखानस ऋषि ने ब्रह्मा से मन्दिर-पूजा की विधि सीखी। वैखान भगवान वो हैं जिन्होंने मन्दिर-पूजा प्रणाली (temple worship system) प्रकट की। जब तिरुपति में सुबह 3 बजे सुप्रभातम् होता है, वो वैखानस विधि है जो भगवान ने स्वयं स्थापित की।
