Pratyangira
The divine mirror -- she who specializes not in attack but in reflection, turning every hostile force back upon its source and teaching that the most devastating counter-weapon is the enemy's own.

Etymology · व्युत्पत्ति
From "prati" (प्रति) meaning against, in return, counter -- and "aṅgirā" (अङ्गिरा) referring to the sage Angiras and by extension, the fire of destructive magic or hostile intention. She who is the counter-fire -- the force that turns hostile energy back upon its sender. Pratyangira does not create new force. She reverses existing force. The curse returns to the curser. The lie rebounds upon the liar. She is the mirror placed at the mouth of the cannon.
अर्थ
कुछ लोग हथियारों से लड़ते हैं। और कुछ systems से -- अफ़वाहों, bureaucratic रुकावट, सामाजिक अलगाव, reputation की वह धीमी विषबाधा जो किसी एक हाथ तक trace नहीं। इन शत्रुओं के विरुद्ध तलवार बेकार। अफ़वाह नहीं काट सकते। Bureaucratic delay नहीं भोंक सकते। Whisper campaign का सिर नहीं उड़ा सकते। प्रत्यङ्गिरा इसी विशिष्ट युद्ध की देवी -- जहाँ हमला अदृश्य, व्यवस्थागत, और बिना किसी की उँगलियों के निशान आपको नष्ट करने के लिए designed। वह बेहतर हमलों से counter नहीं करतीं -- कुछ ज़्यादा विनाशकारी करती हैं: लौटा देती हैं। अफ़वाह अपने स्रोत तक, amplified। Bureaucratic रुकावट obstructor की अपनी file पर। Reputation assassination assassin पर recoil। नए हथियार नहीं चाहिए -- बस तुम पर aimed हर हथियार की polarity reverse कर देती हैं, और भेजने वाले को अपनी ही दवाई दोगुनी dose में मिलती है। प्रत्यङ्गिरा हर उस औरत के लिए है जो ऐसे अभियान का निशाना रही जो दिख नहीं रहा था, ऐसे शत्रुओं से जिनका नाम नहीं ले सकती, ऐसे तरीक़ों से जिनका counter नहीं कर सकती -- जब तक counter करना बंद करके reflect करना शुरू नहीं किया।
कथा · From tradition
प्रत्यङ्गिरा उपासना ग्रंथ -- मुख्यतः दक्षिण भारतीय शाक्त परंपरा और अथर्ववेद वंश से -- देवी का वह रूप बताते हैं जो अधिकांश उत्तर भारतीय परंपराएँ भूल चुकीं। प्रत्यङ्गिरा का मुख सिंह का, शरीर स्त्री का -- या कुछ चित्रणों में उलटा। मार्कण्डेय पुराण की टीका के अनुसार प्रकट हुईं जब ऋषि अङ्गिरा ने ब्रह्मांडीय संघर्ष में शिव पर विनाशकारी अग्नि-अस्त्र चलाया। अग्नि शिव की ओर बढ़ी -- और शिव के तीसरे नेत्र से प्रत्यग्नि निकली। वह शिव की नहीं -- उनकी थी। दो अग्नियों के बीच प्रकट हुईं, अङ्गिरा की अग्नि बाएँ हाथ में absorb की, और दाएँ से लौटाई -- amplified, शुद्ध, अप्रतिरोध्य। मूल अग्नि ने ख़ुद को नष्ट किया। शिक्षा मूलभूत: प्रत्यङ्गिरा आक्रमण नहीं रचतीं -- प्रतिबिंब में विशेषज्ञ। दिव्य दर्पण -- और दर्पण हमला नहीं करता। दर्पण तुम्हें तुम्हारा चेहरा दिखाता है। अगर चेहरा राक्षसी है, तो दर्पण राक्षस नहीं -- तुम हो।
Modern Context · आज के संदर्भ में
Whitefield, Bangalore का IT park। वह अट्ठाईस साल की है। छह महीने पहले senior director को report किया data falsification के लिए -- client metrics inflate करके चालीस करोड़ का contract renewal secure किया। Company की ethics hotline पर, anonymously, documentation के साथ। तीन हफ़्ते में fire नहीं हुई -- reorganize। Team dissolve। Projects reassign। Data systems का access -- जिससे evidence बनाया -- revoke। Skip-level manager -- एक औरत, जो और बुरा लगा -- ने one-on-one में कहा: 'तुम्हारा role evolve हो रहा है।' Whisper campaign चौथे हफ़्ते शुरू: difficult to work with। Team player नहीं। Agenda है। किसी ने सीधे नहीं कहा -- ज़रूरत नहीं। System ambient pressure से काम करता है -- meeting जिसमें अब invite नहीं, Slack channel जो join करो तो शांत, appraisal जो 'meets expectations' grade करे जब हर metric से exceed किया। Whisper campaign से नहीं लड़ी -- mirror किया। Original ethics complaint -- जिसकी copies रखी थीं, क्योंकि प्रत्यङ्गिरा हमेशा copies रखती हैं -- बाहर file की: SEBI (client publicly listed company), client की अपनी compliance team, और एक forensic auditor जो LinkedIn contact से मिला। वही data जिससे metrics falsify हुई अब falsification expose कर रहा। Senior director का अपना हथियार -- inflate numbers -- उसके ख़िलाफ़ evidence बना। नब्बे दिन में contract regulatory review में। Director ने resign किया। Whisper campaign रुकी -- इसलिए नहीं कि किसी ने माफ़ी माँगी, बल्कि whispers का source building से हट गया। प्रत्यङ्गिरा ने नया गोला-बारूद नहीं बनाया -- जो भेजा गया वह लौटा दिया।
Meditation · ध्यान
Sit before an actual mirror. Close your eyes first. Breathe in for 4 counts, visualizing every invisible attack aimed at you -- rumours, doubts planted by others, systemic obstructions. See them as arrows suspended in the air around you. Hold for 3 counts. On the exhale (5 counts), visualize a mirror forming around your entire body -- not a wall, not a shield, a mirror. The arrows hit the mirror and reverse direction, returning to their senders. You do not need to know who sent them. The mirror knows. After 9 rounds, open your eyes. Look at yourself in the actual mirror. The face looking back is Pratyangira. She has been there the whole time.
Mantra Practice · मंत्र जप
Chant 108 times seated before a mirror or a reflective surface -- brass plate, water in a copper vessel, a polished steel thali. The reflection activates Pratyangira's principle. Use a rudraksha mala. Voice should be neutral -- not aggressive, not passive, the flat affect of a mirror that reflects without distortion. Best on Saturday nights (Saturn -- the planet of karmic return), during Kalaratri (seventh night of Navaratri), or any week you have been the target of something you cannot name but can feel.

उसने नया हथियार नहीं बनाया। पुराने को पलट दिया। भेजने वाले को अपनी ही आग मिली और गर्मी की शिकायत नहीं कर सका।
