Simhasaneshwari
The portable throne — the Lakshmi who does not derive authority from the seat she occupies but confers purpose upon it, teaching that sovereignty is generated from inside and that any chair becomes a throne when the right person decides to sit.

Etymology · व्युत्पत्ति
From 'siṃhāsana' (सिंहासन) meaning throne — literally 'the seat of the lion' — and 'īśvarī' (ईश्वरी) meaning the supreme goddess, the sovereign feminine. She who is the goddess of the throne — not the person who sits on it, but the principle that makes the throne a throne. Without her presence, a throne is furniture. With her, a park bench becomes a seat of authority.
अर्थ
सिंहासन बस कुर्सी है जब तक कोई योग्य न बैठे। और योग्य व्यक्ति ज़मीन पर भी sovereign है। सिंहासनेश्वरी वो लक्ष्मी हैं जो यह फ़र्क़ सिखाती हैं: अधिकार उस seat से नहीं आता जहाँ बैठो, बल्कि उससे जो ले जाओ। हर office में corner office है — अधिकतर लोग जो बैठते हैं वो अधिकार कमरे से उधार लेते हैं। शक्तिशाली desk, view, door पर plaque से। कमरा हटाओ, सिकुड़ जाते हैं। सिंहासनेश्वरी उलट हैं: वो औरत जो कुर्सी को शाही बनाती है, उलटा नहीं। मोफ़स्सिल शहर के municipal corporation office में बिठाओ — Supreme Court की तरह चलाएगी। चाय की दुकान पर spiral notebook में accounts सम्भाले — दुकान institution बन जाएगी। उनका अधिकार portable है क्योंकि कभी location, title, hierarchy से आया ही नहीं — भीतर से generate हुआ, एक संयम और दक्षता से इतनी पूर्ण कि माहौल उनके इर्द-गिर्द बदलता है, वो माहौल के इर्द-गिर्द नहीं। तुम मिले हो उनसे। वो औरत जिसके लिए कमरा ख़ुद reorganise होता है — इसलिए नहीं कि माँगा, बल्कि इसलिए कि उनकी उपस्थिति ने 'केंद्र' का मतलब बदल दिया।
कथा · From tradition
देवी भागवत पुराण (पुस्तक 3, अध्याय 3) में जब देवी अपना विश्वरूप प्रकट करती हैं — पहली चीज़ शरीर नहीं, सिंहासन प्रकट होता है। पंच महाभूतों से बना, ब्रह्मा, विष्णु, शिव, ईश्वर चार पाये, सदाशिव आसन-पट्ट। देवी देवताओं के दिए सिंहासन पर नहीं बैठतीं। देवता सिंहासन बनते हैं। हिंदू धर्मशास्त्र में संप्रभुता की सबसे क्रांतिकारी छवि: पुरुष दिव्य स्त्री को seat नहीं देता। पुरुष दिव्य seat है — और वो वह हैं जो बैठने का फ़ैसला करके seat को अर्थ देती हैं। ललिता सहस्रनाम (नाम 3) देवी को 'सिंहासनेश्वरी' कहता है और भास्कराराय की टीका: 'सिंहासन उन पर अधिकार नहीं डालता। वो सिंहासन को उद्देश्य देती हैं। उनके बिना seat के चार पाये हैं और कोई function नहीं — जैसे governance बिना सरकार।' सौंदर्य लहरी (श्लोक 92) प्रतिध्वनि करता है: देवी का सिंहासन पूरा ब्रह्मांड है — इसलिए नहीं कि जीता, बल्कि इसलिए कि ब्रह्मांड ने ख़ुद को उनके नीचे व्यवस्थित कर लिया जिस क्षण उन्होंने बैठने का फ़ैसला किया।
Modern Context · आज के संदर्भ में
दरभंगा, बिहार — Block Development Office, Room 3, स्टील desk के पीछे plastic chair, files का ढेर जो monsoon जैसी महकती हैं। सैंतीस साल। Block Development Officer — इस block की history में पहली महिला BDO। पिछले वाले office farmhouse से चलाते थे, हफ़्ते में दो बार आते, head clerk की pre-stamped files sign करते। वो नौ बजे आती हैं। रोज़। उसी plastic chair पर बैठती हैं — वही chair — और एक महीने में chair बदल गई। शारीरिक रूप से नहीं। Functionally। पियोन जो corridor में smoking करते थे, अब वो गुज़रें तो खड़े हो जाते — डर से नहीं, एक recalibration से जो ख़ुद नहीं बता सकते। Head clerk जो files pre-stamp करता था अब दरवाज़े के बाहर files खोलकर खड़ा रहता है, क्योंकि वो हर page पढ़ती हैं। MLA जो call करके transfers dictate करता था, एक बार किया। सुना, बोलीं 'transfer policy follow करूँगी,' और disconnect। दोबारा call नहीं आई। Local newspaper ने piece लिखा: 'Lady BDO changes block।' उन्होंने block नहीं बदला। Chair पर बैठीं — और chair, पंद्रह साल में पहली बार, सिंहासन बन गई। सरपंच जो gram sabhas skip करते थे, अब आते हैं — क्योंकि वो आती हैं। MGNREGA payments जो महीनों लटकते थे, हफ़्तों में clear — क्योंकि audit करती हैं। Women's SHG जो तीन साल से 'काग़ज़ पर defunct' था, अब हर गुरुवार मिलता है — क्योंकि पहली meeting में आईं और ज़मीन पर उनके साथ बैठीं। यही सिंहासनेश्वरी हैं दरभंगा में: plastic chair, steel desk, एक औरत जो अपना अधिकार लाई और कमरे से provide कराने की ज़रूरत नहीं पड़ी। कमरे ने ख़ुद को provide किया — क्योंकि कमरे यही करते हैं जब सही इंसान बैठता है।
Meditation · ध्यान
Find a chair — any chair. Not a special one. The most ordinary chair available: a kitchen chair, a plastic stool, a park bench. Sit in it with the deliberate posture of someone being enthroned. Spine erect. Feet flat. Hands resting on the armrests or your thighs, palms down — the posture of authority, not supplication. Close your eyes. Breathe in (4 counts): feel the chair beneath you. It is ordinary. Exhale (4 counts): feel yourself making it extraordinary — your posture, your weight, your presence are turning this seat into a seat of power. Not borrowed power. Generated power. After 7 cycles, the chair is no longer ordinary. You have converted it. Sit for 5 minutes in this sovereign stillness. Before standing, say internally: 'I do not need a better chair. Any chair I sit in becomes the right one.' Stand up slowly. Walk away. The chair returns to being furniture. But you carry the throne with you — because it was never in the chair. It was in how you sat.
Mantra Practice · मंत्र जप
Chant 108 times on the morning you begin any new role — a new job, a new position, a new responsibility, a new phase of life. Sit in the exact chair you will occupy in that role: your office chair, your desk at home, your classroom seat. Claim the space before the first day begins. Use a crystal (sphatik) mala. Face east. Voice should carry quiet command — not loud, not soft, but absolutely certain. The cadence of someone who has already been enthroned and is merely confirming it. After chanting, place your right palm flat on the desk or surface before you and say: 'This is now my seat. I bring the authority. The seat does not provide it.' The ritual is complete when you begin working — the first act in the new chair is the first act of the new sovereignty.
