त्रिधामसुन्दर दत्तात्रेय को तीन धामों में सुन्दर नाम देता है। तीन धाम चेतना की तीन अवस्थाओं (अवस्थात्रय) के अनुरूप हैं: जागृत, स्वप्न और सुषुप्ति। दत्तात्रेय की सुन्दरता तीनों में व्याप्त है। भारत में गुरु की सुन्दरता को सामान्य सौन्दर्य मानकों से परे बताने की परम्परा इस त्रिधामसुन्दर गुण का सम्मान करती है।
