गोप्त्री = protector। विष्णु पालनकर्ता कहलाते हैं लेकिन उनकी शक्ति (protection power) देवी से आती है। माँ जो बच्चे को बीमारियों से बचाए, army जो देश की रक्षा करे, firewall जो computer को virus से बचाए, सब गोप्त्री शक्ति। UN Peacekeeping force भी गोप्त्री का आधुनिक रूप है।
