शिवामोद (मंगलमय सुगंध और आनंद) शिव को आमोद के माध्यम से नामित करता है , वह व्यापक सुगंधित आनंद जो एक सुंदर गंध की तरह फैलता है। भारत की संवेदी-भक्ति परंपरा में सुगंध (गंध) दिव्य का अनुभव करने के प्राथमिक तरीकों में से एक है। गंध-पूजा सभी शैव पूजा अनुष्ठानों का मूल तत्त्व है। शिवामोद कहता है शिव स्वयं यह सुगंध हैं।
