शिवास्पदः

The auspicious abiding-place, whose āspada (the place of standing, the established position, the ground of being) is śiva , the divine who stands in the most auspicious ground as the model of what it means to be completely established

मंगलमय निवास-स्थान, जिनका आस्पद (खड़े होने का स्थान, स्थापित स्थिति, होने का आधार) शिव है , वह दिव्य जो सबसे मंगलमय आधार में खड़े हैं पूरी तरह स्थापित होने का आदर्श के रूप में

शिवास्पद (मंगलमय निवास-स्थान) शिव को उनके आस्पद के माध्यम से नामित करता है , उनके खड़े होने का स्थान, होने का उनका स्थापित आधार। शिवास्थान (#627), शिवावास (#681) के साथ संबंध: जहाँ वे नाम निवास के रूप में स्थान को नामित करते थे, शिवास्पद उसे उस स्थापित स्थिति के रूप में नामित करता है जिससे कोई कार्य करता है। योग परंपरा का आसन (साधना के लिए स्थापित मुद्रा) शिवास्पद के सिद्धांत में भाग लेता है।
