अनुत्तमः

He above whom there is nothing, the unsurpassable supreme

जिनसे ऊपर कोई नहीं, अतुलनीय सर्वोच्च

अनुत्तम का अर्थ है 'जिसके ऊपर कोई नहीं।' भारत में 'उत्तम' (best) की प्रशंसा बहुत होती है: उत्तम विद्यार्थी, उत्तम नागरिक। लेकिन अनुत्तम भगवान वो हैं जिनसे 'उत्तम' कोई नहीं। गीता (11.43) में अर्जुन कहता है 'न त्वत्समोऽस्त्यभ्यधिकः कुतोऽन्यो,' तुम्हारे बराबर नहीं, तो ऊपर तो कैसे? यह भगवान की सर्वोच्चता का सबसे सीधा वक्तव्य है।
