गतिसत्तमः

The supreme refuge and the noblest destination for all righteous souls

सत्पुरुषों के लिए सर्वोच्च गन्तव्य और सबसे श्रेष्ठ शरण

गतिसत्तम भगवान सज्जनों की 'सबसे अच्छी गति' (noblest destination) हैं। भारतीय दर्शन में 'गति' का बड़ा महत्व है: 'सद्गति' (good destination after death), 'दुर्गति' (bad destination), और 'परम गति' (supreme destination = moksha)। जब कोई बुज़ुर्ग गुज़रता है तो परिवार प्रार्थना करता है 'उन्हें सद्गति मिले।' गतिसत्तम वो 'सद्गति' हैं जो सबसे 'सत्' (noble) है: मोक्ष।
