Shiva Suprabhatam

snātvā jale śītalita-antaraṅgāḥ spṛṣṭvā ca puṣpāṇi suvāsita-aṅgāḥ | dvijanti prabhāte marut-taraṅgāḥ uttiṣṭha śambho tava suprabhātam ||1||

जल में स्नान कर शीतल हुए अंतःकरण वाले, पुष्पों का स्पर्श कर सुवासित अंगों वाले भक्त प्रभात में हैं, और मरुत की तरंगें बह रही हैं। हे शम्भो, उठिए, आपका शुभ प्रभात हुआ।

Cooled within from their bath in sacred waters, their bodies fragrant with the flowers they have touched, the morning breeze ripples forth. Arise, O Shambhu, Your auspicious dawn has come.

nandīśvara-ambhā-ninadam manojñaṃ varṣa-abda-garjyām iva manya-mānaḥ | kekī-kumārasya karoty amṛtaṃ uttiṣṭha śambho tava suprabhātam ||2||

नन्दी की मनोज्ञ ध्वनि को वर्षा के मेघों की गर्जना मानकर मयूरकुमार अमृत के समान आनंद-ध्वनि करता है। हे शम्भो, उठिए, आपका शुभ प्रभात हुआ।

Mistaking Nandi's pleasant bellow for the roar of monsoon clouds, the young peacock breaks into a nectar-sweet cry of joy. Arise, O Shambhu, Your auspicious dawn has come.

loka-eka-bandhuṃ prasaviṣyati iti prācīṃ samarcya añjali-baddha-hastaiḥ | stotuṃ bhavantaṃ munayaḥ pravṛttāḥ uttiṣṭha śambho tava suprabhātam ||3||

पूर्व दिशा शीघ्र ही लोकबंधु सूर्य को जन्म देगी, यह मानकर मुनिजन अंजलिबद्ध होकर पूर्व दिशा की अर्चना करते हुए आपकी स्तुति में प्रवृत्त हैं। हे शम्भो, उठिए, आपका शुभ प्रभात हुआ।

Believing that the east is about to bring forth the sun, sole friend of the world, the sages worship the eastern sky with folded hands and turn to praising You. Arise, O Shambhu, Your auspicious dawn has come.

brahma-ādi-deva-udita veda-mantraiḥ dig-pāla-bhūṣā-maṇi-rāṇi-nādaiḥ | kolāhala-udvāri ca samprabhūtaḥ uttiṣṭha śambho tava suprabhātam ||4||

ब्रह्मादि देवों द्वारा उच्चारित वेदमंत्रों और दिक्पालों के आभूषणों की मणिध्वनि से चारों ओर महान कोलाहल उठ रहा है। हे शम्भो, उठिए, आपका शुभ प्रभात हुआ।

With Vedic mantras recited by Brahma and the gods, and the jeweled ornaments of the guardians of the directions ringing out, a great joyous clamor has risen all around. Arise, O Shambhu, Your auspicious dawn has come.

ābhāti śaila-upari lambamānā megha-āli-rekhā gaja-carma-nīlā | nitya-iva śāṭī hariṇā tvad-arthaṃ uttiṣṭha śambho tava suprabhātam ||5||

पर्वत के ऊपर लटकती मेघपंक्ति गजचर्म के समान नीली शोभा पाती है, मानो हरि द्वारा आपके लिए नित्य नवीन वस्त्र लाया गया हो। हे शम्भो, उठिए, आपका शुभ प्रभात हुआ।

The row of dark blue-black clouds hanging over the mountain shines like Your eternal garment of elephant hide, as though brought fresh for You alone. Arise, O Shambhu, Your auspicious dawn has come.

prārthyā samantāt pravikīryamāṇaiḥ liptaḥ ayaṃ lokaḥ śita-kānti-puñjaiḥ | dhatte tvadīyāṃ ruciram aṅga-śobhāṃ uttiṣṭha śambho tava suprabhātam ||6||

चारों ओर फैलती हुई शीतल कांति-राशि से आप्लावित यह लोक आपके अंगों की रुचिर शोभा धारण करता है। हे शम्भो, उठिए, आपका शुभ प्रभात हुआ।

This world, bathed on every side in the longed-for rays of cool, spreading radiance, now takes on the lovely glow of Your own form. Arise, O Shambhu, Your auspicious dawn has come.
