Etymology · व्युत्पत्ति
From Sanskrit root 'dhā' (धा, to place, to set, to establish, to support, to hold in position) — He who places everything in its right position, who establishes the cosmic order by putting each element exactly where it needs to be. Not the creator of the parts — the arranger. The one who ensures that oxygen is 21% and not 22%, that the Earth tilts at 23.5 degrees, that your mother's voice is the first one you recognize.
अर्थ
एक ऐसे ब्रह्मांड की कल्पना करो जहाँ सब कुछ हो पर कुछ भी सही जगह पर न हो। ऑक्सीजन 50% — हर जगह आग। पृथ्वी का झुकाव 45 डिग्री — कोई ऋतु नहीं, बस अतिरेक। चाँद थोड़ा और पास — ज्वार तट निगल ले। पानी 50 डिग्री पर जमे — तरल महासागर ही न हों। सब कुछ मौजूद। कुछ भी व्यवस्थित नहीं। उस अराजकता को धाता रोकते हैं। वे चीज़ों के बनाने वाले नहीं। रखने वाले हैं। जिन्होंने तय किया कि सूर्य और पृथ्वी के बीच दूरी ठीक 14.96 करोड़ किलोमीटर हो — इतनी पास कि गर्मी मिले, इतनी दूर कि जीवन बचे। यह दैवीय बुद्धि का सबसे अनदेखा रूप है: सृजन नहीं, व्यवस्था। आविष्कार नहीं, स्थापन। दवाखाने और ज़हर की अलमारी में फ़र्क रसायन नहीं — हर शीशी की जगह है।
कथा · From tradition
तैत्तिरीय उपनिषद (2.1) घोषणा करता है: 'उस ब्रह्म से आकाश उत्पन्न हुआ। आकाश से वायु। वायु से अग्नि। अग्नि से जल। जल से पृथ्वी। पृथ्वी से औषधि। औषधि से अन्न। अन्न से पुरुष।' यह केवल सृष्टि क्रम नहीं — व्यवस्था क्रम है। हर तत्त्व ठीक उसी क्रम में प्रकट होता है जो अगले के अस्तित्व के लिए ज़रूरी है। आकाश वायु से पहले क्योंकि वायु को चलने के लिए आकाश चाहिए। वायु अग्नि से पहले क्योंकि अग्नि को जलने के लिए वायु चाहिए। जल पृथ्वी से पहले क्योंकि पृथ्वी को जुड़ने के लिए जल चाहिए। यह क्रम यादृच्छिक नहीं। यह धाता की स्थापना है — एक ब्रह्मांडीय assembly line जहाँ operations का क्रम स्वयं पवित्र है। आधुनिक भौतिकी इन्हें 'fine-tuned constants' कहती है। उपनिषद ने तीन हज़ार साल पहले इसे धाता कहा।
Modern Context · आज के संदर्भ में
भोपाल में BTech दूसरा साल, mid-semester, पाँच subjects में डूबे हो जो seniors ने 'scoring' बताए थे। DBMS, Computer Networks, OS, Discrete Math, और एक humanities elective जो 2 PM पर था इसलिए चुना ताकि दोपहर तक सो सको। कुछ जुड़ता नहीं। हर subject अलग टापू। जब तक एक गुरुवार दोपहर Networks प्रोफ़ेसर packet routing समझाते हैं और तुम्हें लगता है — यही logic OS में process scheduling का है। और DBMS के tree structures Discrete Math के वही trees हैं। और humanities elective में information theory वही entropy बता रही है जो Thermodynamics में पिछले साल आई थी। एक पल में पाँच असंबद्ध subjects एक जालीदार ढाँचे में जुड़ जाते हैं। वह जुड़ाव — जब व्यवस्था दिखती है — वही धाता है। उन्होंने subjects नहीं बनाए। उन्हें ऐसे रखा कि एक दिन, भोपाल में किसी गुरुवार को, तुम्हें pattern दिखे। पाठ्यक्रम कभी random नहीं था। तुम्हें बस रखने वाला अभी तक नहीं मिला था।

Look around the room you are in. Pick five objects — a book, a glass, a phone, a lamp, anything. Now imagine rearranging them into the worst possible configuration: lamp on the floor, book in the glass, phone under the pillow. Feel the discomfort. Now put them back where they belong. Feel the relief. That relief — the rightness of things in their proper place — is Dhata's gift. Close your eyes and extend this feeling to your life. What is out of place? What needs to be moved, not created or destroyed, but simply placed where it belongs? Sit with this inquiry for 5 minutes.
Mantra Practice · मंत्र जप
Chant 108 times in the morning while organizing your physical space — making the bed, arranging the desk, setting out what you need for the day. This is the one mantra designed to be chanted during action, not stillness. Use mental japa. The physical act of placing things in order is itself the meditation. Best performed daily as a morning practice.

उन्होंने ऑक्सीजन नहीं बनाई। उसे इक्कीस प्रतिशत पर रखा। ब्रह्मांड और अराजकता में फ़र्क यह नहीं कि क्या है — यह है कि सब कहाँ रखा है।
