Radha Ashtakam

rādhā kṛṣṇasya jīvanaṃ rādhā kṛṣṇasya bhūṣaṇam। rādhā kṛṣṇasya sarvasvaṃ rādhāyai nityam āmnayeta॥1॥

राधा श्रीकृष्ण का जीवन हैं, राधा श्रीकृष्ण का भूषण हैं। राधा ही कृष्ण का सर्वस्व हैं — उनका सब कुछ। इसलिए सदा राधा को ही सब कुछ अर्पित करना चाहिए और उनका नाम जपना चाहिए।

Radha is the very life of Krishna; Radha is His most cherished ornament. Radha is the entirety of Krishna's being — His all-in-all. Therefore, one should eternally chant and dedicate all things to Radha.

rādhā vṛndāvanādhīśā rādhā vṛndāvanapriyā। rādhā vṛndāvanānandā rādhe rādhe namāmyaham॥2॥

राधा वृन्दावन की स्वामिनी हैं और वृन्दावन की सबसे प्रिया हैं। वे ही वृन्दावन के कण-कण में व्याप्त आनंद हैं। 'राधे राधे' पुकारते हुए मैं उन्हें सादर प्रणाम करता हूँ।

Radha is the sovereign queen of Vrindavana, and She is the most beloved of that sacred forest. She is the very bliss and joy that permeates every leaf and breeze of Vrindavana. Chanting 'Radhe Radhe,' I bow to Her with my whole heart.

yā rādhā madhurālāpā yā rādhā madhurānanā। yā rādhā madhurācārā tāṃ rādhāṃ praṇamāmyaham॥3॥

जिनकी वाणी मधुर है, जिनका मुख दिव्य आभा से प्रकाशित है, और जिनका आचरण सदा मधुर और कोमल है — उन राधा को मैं साष्टांग प्रणाम करता हूँ। उनका समग्र व्यक्तित्व एक दिव्य माधुर्य से परिपूर्ण है जो सभी को अपनी ओर खींचता है।

She whose every word is sweet and melodious, She whose face shines with a gentle divine radiance, and She whose every action and conduct is filled with gracious sweetness — to that Radha, I offer my deepest prostration. Her entire being overflows with a divine gentleness that draws all souls toward her.

rādhā kṛpākaṭākṣeṇa bhaktānāṃ mokṣadāyinī। rādhā kṛṣṇapriyā nityaṃ rādhāyai mama maṅgalam॥4॥

अपनी कृपापूर्ण कटाक्ष दृष्टि से राधा अपने भक्तों को मोक्ष प्रदान करती हैं। वे सदा-सर्वदा कृष्ण को अत्यंत प्रिय हैं। ऐसी राधा मुझे सदा मंगल और कल्याण प्रदान करें।

By the compassionate grace of Her sidelong glance, Radha bestows liberation upon devoted seekers. She is eternally and supremely dear to Krishna. May Radha grant all auspiciousness and blessings to me, Her humble devotee.

vṛṣabhānusutā rādhā kīrtidā ca yaśasvinī। śrīkṛṣṇahṛdayānandā rādhike tubhyam āmnayeta॥5॥

श्री वृषभानु की पुत्री राधा सच्ची कीर्ति प्रदान करने वाली और स्वयं अत्यंत यशस्वी हैं। वे श्रीकृष्ण के हृदय में विराजने वाला परम आनंद हैं। हे राधिके, आपको ही सब कुछ अर्पित किया जाना चाहिए।

Radha, the daughter of the blessed Vrishabhanu, is the one who bestows true fame and is Herself supremely illustrious. She is the very bliss residing within the heart of Sri Krishna. To You, O Radhike, everything should be offered with devotion.

rādhā lalitāsakhī rādhā viśākhāsakhisaṃyutā। gopīmaṇḍalamadhyasthā rādhe me śaraṇaṃ bhava॥6॥

राधा, अपनी प्रिय सखियों ललिता और विशाखा से घिरी हुई, गोपियों के मण्डल के मध्य में दीप्तिमान होकर विराजती हैं। वे उस प्रेम-समूह की आत्मा हैं। हे राधे, आप मेरी शरण बनें।

Radha, surrounded by Her beloved companions Lalita and Vishakha, stands radiant at the center of the circle of devoted gopis. She is the heart and soul of that sacred fellowship of love. O Radhe, please become my refuge and ultimate shelter.

rādhā premaśvarūpiṇī rādhā bhaktipradāyinī। rādhā bhavabhayatrātrī rādhāṃ vande muhurmuhuḥ॥7॥

राधा स्वयं दिव्य प्रेम का साकार रूप हैं; वे अपने भक्तों को शुद्ध भक्ति प्रदान करती हैं। राधा ही संसार के भय और बंधन से मुक्ति दिलाने वाली हैं। मैं राधा को बार-बार, निरंतर प्रणाम करता हूँ।

Radha is the very embodiment of divine love itself; Radha is the bestower of pure devotion upon Her seekers. Radha is the deliverer from the fear and bondage of worldly existence. I worship and bow to Radha again and again, without end.

idaṃ rādhāṣṭakaṃ puṇyaṃ yaḥ paṭhet bhaktitattparaḥ। sa labhet kṛṣṇasāyujyaṃ rādhākṛpāprasādataḥ॥8॥

जो भी इस पवित्र राधाष्टकम् का भक्तिपूर्वक और एकाग्रचित्त होकर पाठ करता है, उसे श्रीकृष्ण का सायुज्य — उनसे मिलन — प्राप्त होता है। यह परम फल केवल राधा की कृपा और अनुग्रह से ही मिलता है। उनकी करुणामयी दया से सबसे ऊँचा आध्यात्मिक लक्ष्य हर सच्चे हृदय के लिए सुलभ हो जाता है।

Whoever recites this sacred Radha Ashtakam with sincere devotion and wholehearted absorption shall attain the blessed union with Krishna Himself. This great gift is granted solely by the compassionate grace and divine favor of Radha. Through Her loving mercy, the highest spiritual goal becomes accessible to every sincere heart.
