अमृतात्मा

अमृत आत्मा, वह अमर चेतना जिसका स्वभाव अमृत है, वह अमरत्व का रस जो ब्रह्म के शाश्वत जीवन से प्रवाहित होता है

अमृतात्मन दत्तात्रेय को वह आत्मा नाम देता है जिसका मूल स्वभाव अमृत (अमरत्व) है। वेदान्त परम्परा में आत्मन् को मृत्युहीन (अमृत) के रूप में पहचाना जाना केन्द्रीय शिक्षा है। कठोपनिषद् की नचिकेता और यम के बीच पूरी वार्ता इसी पर समाप्त होती है। महामृत्युंजय मन्त्र का 'मामृतात्' वाक्यांश इसी अमृतात्मन की ओर संकेत करता है।
