ब्राह्मी लिपि - जिससे सभी भारतीय और कई दक्षिण-पूर्व एशियाई लिपियाँ व्युत्पन्न हुई हैं - इसी देवी के नाम पर थी। लेखन और उसके माध्यम से ज्ञान एक ही दैवीय स्रोत से है।
