महाप्राणः

The one of great vital force; the supreme source of the prāṇic energy that animates all life, whose own life-force is so abundant that it radiates into every being it touches, infusing them with renewed vitality

महान प्राण-शक्ति वाले; उस प्राणिक ऊर्जा का परम स्रोत जो सभी जीवन को सजीव बनाती है, जिनकी अपनी जीवन-शक्ति इतनी प्रचुर है कि यह जिस भी प्राणी को स्पर्श करती है उसमें विकीर्ण होती है, उन्हें नवीनीकृत जीवन-शक्ति से भर देती है

भारत के योग और प्राणायाम शिक्षक श्वास सत्रों की शुरुआत में इस नाम का जाप करते हैं, यह समझते हुए कि प्राणायाम में जिस जीवन-शक्ति के साथ काम किया जाता है उसका परम स्रोत दिव्य के महाप्राण में है।
