तुरीय, चौथी चेतना-अवस्था जो जाग्रत, स्वप्न और सुषुप्ति से परे है

तुरीय मांडूक्य उपनिषद का सबसे महत्त्वपूर्ण सिद्धान्त है। जाग्रत, स्वप्न, सुषुप्ति तीन अवस्थाएँ बदलती हैं लेकिन तुरीय नहीं बदलता। वह तीनों में present है और तीनों से परे भी। जैसे cinema screen पर scenes बदलते हैं लेकिन screen नहीं बदलता, वैसे ही तीन अवस्थाएँ बदलती हैं लेकिन तुरीय (देवी) स्थिर है।
