ॐ जय यमुना माता
Om Jai Yamuna Mata, the traditional aarti of Maa Yamuna, sung at Yamunotri and in Braj-area worship, praising her sacred waters, her power to remove the fear of Yama, and her role in the Krishna Kansa-vadha lila.
ॐ जय यमुना माता, माँ यमुना की यह परंपरागत आरती है, जो यमुनोत्री और ब्रज क्षेत्र की पूजा में गाई जाती है, तथा उनके पावन जल, यम-भय हरने की शक्ति और कृष्ण के कंस-वध लीला में उनकी भूमिका का वंदन करती है।
ॐ जय यमुना माता, हरि जय यमुना माता। जो नहावे फल पावे, सुख दुःख की दाता॥
oṃ jaya yamunā mātā, hari jaya yamunā mātā. jo nahāve phala pāve, sukha duḥkha kī dātā.
ॐ जय हो यमुना माता की, हरि जय हो यमुना माता की। जो कोई आपमें स्नान करता है वह फल पाता है; आप सुख देने वाली और दुःख हरने वाली हैं।
Om, victory to Mother Yamuna; O Hari, victory to Mother Yamuna. Whoever bathes in you receives the fruit; you are the giver of joy and the remover of sorrow.
पावन श्रीयमुना जल, अगम बहै धारा। जो जन शरण में आया, कर दिया निस्तारा॥
pāvana śrīyamunā jala, agama bahai dhārā. jo jana śaraṇa meṁ āyā, kara diyā nistārā.
पावन श्री यमुना जल अगम धारा में बहता है; जो कोई आपकी शरण में आया, उसे आपने पार करा दिया।
The sacred waters of Shri Yamuna flow in an unfathomable stream; whoever comes seeking your refuge, you deliver them across.
जो जन प्रातः ही उठकर, नित्य स्नान करे। यम के त्रास न पावे, जो नित्य ध्यान करे॥
jo jana prātaḥ hī uṭhakara, nitya snāna kare. yama ke trāsa na pāve, jo nitya dhyāna kare.
जो जन प्रातःकाल उठकर नित्य स्नान करता है और नित्य ध्यान करता है, वह यम के त्रास से बचा रहता है।
Whoever rises at dawn and bathes daily, and meditates on you regularly, does not suffer the torment of Yama.
कलिकाल में महिमा, तुम्हारी अटल रही। तुम्हारा बड़ा महातम, चारो वेद कही॥
kalikāla meṁ mahimā, tumhārī aṭala rahī. tumhārā baṛā mahātama, cāro veda kahī.
कलिकाल में भी आपकी महिमा अटल रही है; आपका महान माहात्म्य चारों वेद कहते हैं।
In this age of Kali, your glory remains unshaken; the four Vedas themselves declare your great majesty.
आन तुम्हारे माता, प्रभु अवतार लियो। नित्य निर्मल जल पीकर, कंस को मार दियो॥
āna tumhāre mātā, prabhu avatāra liyo. nitya nirmala jala pīkara, kaṁsa ko māra diyo.
आपके तट पर, हे माता, प्रभु ने अवतार लिया; आपका नित्य निर्मल जल पीकर उन्होंने कंस का वध किया।
Under your waters, Mother, the Lord took his avatar; drinking your pure water daily, he slew Kansa.
नमो मात भय हरणी, शुभ मंगल करणी। मन बेचैन भया है, तुम बिन वैतरणी॥
namo māta bhaya haraṇī, śubha maṅgala karaṇī. mana becaina bhayā hai, tuma bina vaitaraṇī.
हे माता, भय हरने वाली, शुभ मंगल करने वाली, आपको नमन; आपके बिना मन बेचैन हो जाता है, मानो वैतरणी पार करनी हो।
Salutations, Mother, remover of fear and giver of auspicious blessings; the mind grows restless, for without you life feels like crossing the Vaitarani alone.
