Varuṇeśvara
The lord of all waters who teaches that yielding is not weakness , the river intelligence that wears away what force never could.

Etymology · व्युत्पत्ति
From Sanskrit 'Varuṇa' (the Vedic lord of waters and cosmic order, from the root 'vṛ' meaning to cover, to surround, to encompass , the one who encompasses all with the waters of cosmic law) + 'īśvara' (lord, master) , Varuṇeśvara is Shiva as the lord of all waters, the sovereign who encompasses the element that covers seventy percent of the earth and constitutes sixty percent of the human body.
अर्थ
पानी का अपना कोई आकार नहीं। जो भी थामे उसका आकार लेता है। और फिर भी पानी वो शक्ति है जो चट्टान घिसती है, सदियों में ग्रैंड कैन्यन उकेरती है, धीमे कटाव से महाद्वीप हिलाती है। वरुणेश्वर पानी की विरोधाभासी शक्ति की शिक्षा है: बिना खुद खोए झुकना, बिना आक्रामकता के अटल रहना, हर भूगोल में अपना स्तर खोजना बिना किसी भूगोल को खुद के लिए बदलने के लिए मजबूर किए। गंगा, नर्मदा, यमुना, कावेरी , अलग-अलग नदियाँ नहीं। वरुणेश्वर अलग-अलग भूगोलों में चलते हुए, अलग-अलग नाम पहनते हुए, एक ही मूल स्वभाव व्यक्त करते हैं।

शिव पुराण की कोटि रुद्र संहिता में नर्मदा के उद्गम पर शिव के वरुणेश्वर रूप में प्रकट होने का विवरण है , भारत की सात पवित्र नदियों में से एक जो अनोखी रूप से पूर्व की बजाय पश्चिम की ओर बहती है। नर्मदा पुराण दर्ज करता है कि नर्मदा शिव के शरीर से ही जन्मी , विशेष रूप से उनके ब्रह्मांडीय नृत्य के दौरान स्वेद से , और नर्मदा की तलहटी का हर कंकड़ स्वाभाविक रूप से शिवलिंग है, बिना प्रतिष्ठा के पूजनीय। वार्षिक नर्मदा परिक्रमा , लगभग तीन वर्षों में दोनों किनारों पर पूरी नदी की 2,600 किलोमीटर तीर्थयात्रा , परंपरा में शिव के अपने शरीर की परिक्रमा के रूप में समझी जाती है।

जीवन में एक सीधी रेखा खींचने की कोशिश कर रहे हो , करियर की गति, रिश्ते की समयरेखा, वित्तीय मील के पत्थरों का क्रम , और पानी दूसरे रास्ते खोजता रहता है। पदोन्नति तब नहीं आई जब योजना थी। विवाह पटकथा से अलग क्रम में हुआ। जिस देश में रहते हो वो नहीं था जो सोचा था। इन पुनर्निर्देशनों को नेविगेशन की विफलता पढ़ रहे हो। वरुणेश्वर की शिक्षा एक नई व्याख्या है: पानी विफल नहीं होता जब चट्टान के इर्द-गिर्द बहता है। वो अपनी मूल प्रकृति प्रदर्शित कर रहा होता है। नर्मदा पश्चिम बहती है जब बाकी सब नदियाँ पूर्व। समुद्र तक पहुँचती है वही।
Meditation · ध्यान
Sit near any water , a river, a lake, a pond, a full bathtub, a bowl of water placed before you. Watch the surface of the water for 5 minutes without trying to make it do anything. Notice how it responds to the smallest disturbance , a breath of air, a vibration in the floor , and then returns to its own level without instruction. Let your own mind take that quality: disturbed briefly by whatever passes, then finding its level again, on its own, without intervention. Stay in this water-mind for 5 minutes.
Mantra Practice · मंत्र जप
Chant 108 times on the banks of any river, or on any day of river festivals , Narmada Jayanti, Ganga Dussehra, Pushkaram. Stand ankle-deep in moving water if safe and accessible. Use a Tulsi mala whose beads have been previously immersed in a sacred river. Voice should flow without interruption between repetitions , continuous as a current, no distinct stopping between one mantra and the next.

नदी पहाड़ के इर्द-गिर्द जाने के लिए माफी नहीं माँगती। बस जाती है , और दस हज़ार साल में पहाड़ हिला होता है।
