Sarvamangala
All-auspiciousness as the final verdict -- the name the tradition uses at the moment of ultimate invocation, teaching that after all the fury and tenderness and philosophy, what the goddess IS at the irreducible level is the good itself, and the rangoli drawn on the mud is the most persistent prayer any doorstep has ever received.

Oṃ Sarvamaṅgalāyai Namaḥ
Etymology · व्युत्पत्ति
From "sarva" (सर्व) meaning all, every, without exception -- and "maṅgalā" (मङ्गला) meaning auspicious, blessed, that which brings welfare. She who is all-auspiciousness -- not some auspiciousness, not conditional auspiciousness, but the total, unconditional, exceptionless quality of making everything she touches, everything she is, and everything she has ever been orient toward the good.
अर्थ
देवी माहात्म्य (अध्याय 11, श्लोक 10) चार पंक्तियाँ जो हर शाक्त भक्त ज़बानी -- हर दुर्गा पूजा, नवरात्रि, हर अंतिम आह्वान: 'सर्वमङ्गलमाङ्गल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थसाधिके, शरण्ये त्र्यम्बके गौरि नारायणि नमोऽस्तुते।' सब मंगल की मंगल। शक्तिशाली नहीं कहती। उग्र नहीं। प्रज्ञावान नहीं। अंतिम आह्वान -- हर युद्ध, सिद्धि, नाम के बाद -- आख़िरी शब्द: मंगल। सर्वमंगल। कारण: सब क्रोध, कोमलता, दर्शन के बाद अंतिम फ़ैसला -- वह क्या कर सकती नहीं, क्या है। और सबसे गहरे, irreducible, ultimate स्तर पर -- वह गुण जो पास होने से सब बेहतर। शक्ति नहीं। ज्ञान नहीं। मुक्ति नहीं। मंगल। कमरे में आए और कमरा सुधरे। जीवन छुए और शुभ की ओर। सर्वमंगला -- हर खोजी का सवाल: पर है कौन, सच में? वह शुभ। शुभ का दरवाज़ा नहीं, रास्ता नहीं -- शुभ। और शुभ -- शक्ति, ज्ञान, मुक्ति के उलट -- earn, achieve, unlock नहीं। बस है। हमेशा। और पहचानना -- वही सबसे क़रीबी पूजा जो मानव हृदय कर सकता।
कथा · From tradition
सर्वमंगल श्लोक (देवी माहात्म्य, अध्याय 11, श्लोक 10) पंद्रह सौ साल से निरंतर -- मंदिरों, घरों, रणभूमियों, अस्पतालों, रसोइयों, labour wards, exam halls, courtrooms, जहाँ इतना fundamental चाहिए कि कोई specific request capture न करे। कुछ specific नहीं माँगता -- बल दो नहीं, विजय नहीं, भय नहीं। कहता: तुम सब मंगल की मंगल। Statement, request नहीं। Recognition, petition नहीं। और recognition ही पूजा -- जब पहचानो कि जिसे संबोधित सब शुभ का स्रोत, specific request अनावश्यक। सागर से पानी का cup नहीं माँगना -- पहचानो किनारे खड़े। ललिता सहस्रनाम (नाम 200) अव्याज-करुणा-मूर्ति -- करुणा बिना trigger। शुभ प्रार्थना का जवाब नहीं -- resting state। शुभ है जैसे सूर्य गरम -- फ़ैसला नहीं, property। सूर्य धरती गर्माने का तय नहीं -- गर्माना वही है। सर्वमंगला आशीर्वाद देने का तय नहीं -- आशीर्वाद वही है।
Modern Context · आज के संदर्भ में
दरवाज़ा। नासिक। सुबह 6। चैत्र नवरात्रि, पहला दिन। वह तिरसठ। दरवाज़े पर रंगोली -- वही जो माँ, माँ की माँ, उससे पहले। कमल। सफ़ेद चावल का आटा लाल oxide पर। ग्यारह मिनट। चवालीस साल शादी में लगभग छह हज़ार पाँच सौ बार -- हर सुबह, बिना exception, miscarriage के बाद की सुबह, पति की bypass surgery, 2008 बाढ़ जो दरवाज़े तक -- कल की रंगोली बहा दी। कीचड़ पर बनाई। Decorative नहीं -- invocatory। हर line सर्वमंगल श्लोक का मौन दोहराव -- ज़ोर से नहीं, conscious recite भी नहीं, पर gesture में जैसे जुड़े हाथों में प्रार्थना होंठ शांत हों। Threshold पर शुभ -- माँगना नहीं, मानना। दरवाज़े पर welcome mat जैसे: यह घर मानता शुभ आ रहा, रंगोली signal कि दरवाज़ा खुला। छह हज़ार पाँच सौ सुबहें। छह हज़ार पाँच सौ -- औरत अपने दरवाज़े पर घुटने पर, चावल और oxide से घोषणा: सर्वमंगला। सब शुभ। कुछ बुरा नहीं हुआ इसलिए नहीं -- रंगोली हर बुरी चीज़ पर बनी, और बनाना ज़ोर देना कि शुभ अभी भी baseline -- इस दरवाज़े, घर, ज़िंदगी की default setting शुभ। बाढ़ आई। कीचड़ पर रंगोली। यही सर्वमंगला। बाढ़ का denial नहीं -- उसके ऊपर रंगोली।
Meditation · ध्यान
Sit at the threshold of your home -- the doorstep, the entrance, the point where inside meets outside. Close your eyes. Visualize drawing a line of light across the threshold -- a boundary that declares: everything that enters here is oriented toward the good. Not a shield that blocks the bad. A field that transforms the entering into the auspicious. Breathe with the declaration: 4 counts in (the good is the baseline), 4 counts hold (not because nothing bad happens), 5 counts out (because the rangoli is drawn over the mud). After 9 rounds, place your palms on the threshold. Whisper: Sarva Mangala Mangalye. All is auspicious. The all includes the flood. The all includes the mud. The auspiciousness is not the absence of the flood. It is the rangoli drawn on top of it. Sit for 3 minutes. The threshold is sanctified. Not by a priest. By a woman with rice flour who has done this six thousand five hundred times and does not need to be told that the good is the default. She decided it was. And the deciding -- repeated every morning for forty-four years -- is the most persistent prayer any doorstep has ever received.
Mantra Practice · मंत्र जप
Chant 108 times at the doorstep of your home -- the same threshold where the rangoli is drawn. This mantra sanctifies the boundary between the world and your world. Use a tulsi mala. Voice should carry the settled, assured quality of someone who has already decided that the outcome is auspicious -- not hoping, not requesting, declaring. Best on the first morning of Navaratri, on any Mangalvar (Tuesday -- mangal-day), or every morning for the rest of your life because the rangoli is not a seasonal practice and neither is Sarvamangala.
