Kamadhenu -- The Wish-Fulfilling Cow
tāmagnihotrīmṛṣayo jagṛhurbrahmavādinaḥ | yajñasya devayānasya medhyāya haviṣe nṛpa ||
— Srimad Bhagavata Purana 8.8.2
| Name | Story |
|---|---|
| Kamadhenu / Surabhi | The wish-fulfilling cow, risen from the churning of the ocean; mother of all cattle in Puranic tradition |
| Nandini | Her daughter, in Vasishtha's hermitage; the cause of Vishvamitra's turn from king to sage |
| Jamadagni's cow | Seized by Kartavirya Arjuna, setting off Parashurama's wars against the kshatriyas |
| Surabhi in Vraja | After Krishna lifted Govardhan, Surabhi came and bathed him in her milk and named him Govinda |
āyudhānāmahaṃ vajraṃ dhenūnāmasmi kāmadhuk | prajanaścāsmi kandarpaḥ sarpāṇāmasmi vāsukiḥ ||
— Bhagavad Gita 10.28

Gau -- Why the Cow Holds the Place She Does in Hindu Life
The cow is not sacred in Hindu thought because she is mystical. She is sacred because she sustains -- with milk, with labour, with the soil-fed continuity of an agricultural civilisation. From Rigvedic verses calling her sinless and inviolate, to Krishna's life as a cowherd, to the dairy farmer in Anand who still sleeps in the shed at calving time -- the same thread runs through.

Samudra Manthan Treasures -- The 14 Things That Came Out When Gods and Demons Churned the Ocean Together
Poison came first. Immortality came last. In between: a goddess, a gem, a cow, a horse, a tree, a physician, a bow, a moon, and an elephant. The Samudra Manthan is not just a myth -- it is a startup pitch deck for the universe. Two rival teams. One impossible project. Fourteen deliverables. And a hostile takeover at the end.

Samudra Manthan -- When Gods and Demons Ran a Joint Venture and the Universe Almost Died
A cosmic ocean. A mountain for a churning rod. A serpent king for a rope. Gods on one end, demons on the other. And out came 14 treasures -- including wealth, beauty, medicine, immortality, and one poison so lethal it could end creation itself. The Samudra Manthan is not mythology. It is the original playbook for collaboration, crisis management, and how to handle it when your joint venture partner tries to cheat you.
