सूर्य सूक्तम्
Surya Suktam -- the Vedic hymn to Surya, the Sun, source of light, life, and health. Chanted at sunrise for vitality, energy, wellbeing, and the strengthening of the Sun.
सूर्य सूक्तम् -- प्रकाश, जीवन और स्वास्थ्य के स्रोत सूर्य को समर्पित वैदिक सूक्त। ओज, ऊर्जा, कल्याण और सूर्य को बल देने के लिए सूर्योदय पर पढ़ा जाता है।
उद्यन्नद्य मित्रमह आरोहन्नुत्तरां दिवम्। हृद्रोगं मम सूर्य हरिमाणं च नाशय॥१॥
udyannadya mitramaha ārohannuttarāṃ divam | hṛdrogaṃ mama sūrya harimāṇaṃ ca nāśaya ||1||
हे मित्रस्वरूप महान् सूर्य, आज उदित होकर उच्च आकाश में आरोहण करते हुए मेरे हृद्रोग और हरिमाण रोग का नाश करें।
Rising today, O great friend Surya, ascending the higher sky, remove my heart disease and all yellowing illness.
सूर्यो देवीमुषसं रोचमानां मर्यो न योषामभ्येति पश्चात्। यत्रा नरो देवयन्तो युगानि वितन्वते प्रति भद्राय भद्रम्॥२॥
sūryo devīmuṣasaṃ rocamānāṃ maryo na yoṣāmabhyeti paścāt | yatrā naro devayanto yugāni vitanvate prati bhadrāya bhadram ||2||
सूर्य प्रकाशित देवी उषा के पीछे श्रेष्ठ युवक की तरह आते हैं। जहाँ देवभाव वाले लोग अपने सत्कर्म फैलाते हैं, वहाँ शुभ से शुभ जुड़ता है।
Surya follows the shining Goddess Dawn like a noble youth. Where devoted people extend their sacred actions, auspiciousness meets auspiciousness.
भद्रा अश्वा हरितः सूर्यस्य चित्रा एतग्वा अनुमाद्यासः। नमस्यन्तो दिव आ पृष्ठमस्थुः परि द्यावापृथिवी यन्ति सद्यः॥३॥
bhadrā aśvā haritaḥ sūryasya citrā etagvā anumādyāsaḥ | namasyanto diva ā pṛṣṭhamasthuḥ pari dyāvāpṛthivī yanti sadyaḥ ||3||
सूर्य के हरित, चित्र और शुभ अश्व मंगलमय हैं। वे सम्मानित होकर द्युलोक पर आरोहण करते हैं और शीघ्र द्यावा-पृथिवी को घेरते हैं।
Auspicious are the bright horses of Surya. Honored and radiant, they rise to the back of heaven and swiftly move around heaven and earth.
तत्सूर्यस्य देवत्वं तन्महित्वं मध्या कर्तोर्विततं सं जभार। यदेदयुक्त हरितः सधस्थादाद्रात्री वासस्तनुते सिमस्मै॥४॥
tatsūryasya devatvaṃ tanmahitvaṃ madhyā kartorvitataṃ saṃ jabhāra | yadedayukta haritaḥ sadhasthādādrātrī vāsastanute simasmai ||4||
यही सूर्य का देवत्व और महत्त्व है कि वे दिन के कर्म को फैलाते और धारण करते हैं, और रात्रि उनके लिए अपना आवरण हटाती है।
This is the divinity and greatness of Surya: He gathers and spreads the day's work, while night draws her garment aside for Him.
तन्मित्रस्य वरुणस्याभिचक्षे सूर्यो रूपं कृणुते द्योरुपस्थे। अनन्तमन्यद्रुशदस्य पाजः कृष्णमन्यद्धरितः सं भरन्ति॥५॥
tanmitrasya varuṇasyābhicakṣe sūryo rūpaṃ kṛṇute dyorupasthe | anantamanyadruśadasya pājaḥ kṛṣṇamanyaddharitaḥ saṃ bharanti ||5||
सूर्य द्युलोक की गोद में मित्र और वरुण का दृश्य रूप बनते हैं। उनका तेज अनन्त है और उनकी किरणें प्रकाश और अंधकार दोनों को क्रम में रखती हैं।
Surya becomes the visible form of Mitra and Varuna in the lap of heaven. His radiant power is boundless, while the rays gather both brightness and darkness.
अद्या देवा उदिता सूर्यस्य निरंहसः पिपृता निरवद्यात्। तन्नो मित्रो वरुणो मामहन्तामदितिः सिन्धुः पृथिवी उत द्यौः॥६॥
adyā devā uditā sūryasya niraṃhasaḥ pipṛtā niravadyāt | tanno mitro varuṇo māmahantāmaditiḥ sindhuḥ pṛthivī uta dyauḥ ||6||
आज सूर्य के साथ उदित देवगण हमें संकट और दोष से मुक्त करें। मित्र, वरुण, अदिति, सिन्धु, पृथ्वी और द्युलोक हमें यह उदारता से प्रदान करें।
May the gods risen today with Surya deliver us from distress and from blame. May Mitra, Varuna, Aditi, the River, Earth and Heaven grant us this abundantly.
