Guru Paduka Stotram

anantasaṃsārasamudratāranaukāyitābhyāṃ gurubhaktidābhyām | vairāgyasāmrājyadapūjanābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām ||1||

श्रीगुरु पादुकाओं को बारंबार नमस्कार, जो अनंत संसार-सागर से पार कराने वाली नाव बनती हैं, गुरु-भक्ति देती हैं और वैराग्य-साम्राज्य प्रदान करती हैं।

Repeated salutations to the Guru’s sandals, which become a boat to cross the endless ocean of worldly life, grant devotion to the Guru, and bestow the sovereignty of detachment.

kavitvavārāśiniśākarābhyāṃ daurbhāgyadāvāmbudamālikābhyām | dūrikṛtānamravipattatibhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām ||2||

श्रीगुरु पादुकाओं को नमस्कार, जो कवित्व-सागर के चन्द्रमा, दुर्भाग्य-दावानल के वर्षा-मेघ और विनम्र भक्तों की विपत्तियों को दूर करने वाली हैं।

Salutations to the Guru’s sandals, moon to the ocean of poetry, rain-clouds to the forest fire of misfortune, and removers of the troubles of the humble.

natā yayoḥ śrīpatitāṃ samīyuḥ kadācidapyāśu daridravaryāḥ | mūkaśca vācaspatitāṃ hi tābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām ||3||

श्रीगुरु पादुकाओं को नमस्कार, जिनके आगे झुकने से दरिद्र भी श्री प्राप्त करता है और मूक भी वाचस्पति जैसी वाणी पा सकता है।

Salutations to the Guru’s sandals, by bowing to which even the poor may gain prosperity and even the mute may gain eloquence like Vachaspati.

nālīkanīkāśapadāhṛtābhyāṃ nānāvimohādinivārikābhyām | namajjanābhīṣṭatatipradābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām ||4||

कमल के समान शोभित, विविध मोहों को दूर करने वाली और नम्र भक्तों की योग्य इच्छाएँ पूर्ण करने वाली श्रीगुरु पादुकाओं को नमस्कार।

Salutations to the Guru’s sandals, lotus-like and removing many delusions, granting the worthy wishes of those who bow.

nṛpālimaulivrajaratnakānti saridvirājajjaṣakanyakābhyām | nṛpatvadābhyāṃ natalokapaṅkteḥ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām ||5||

राजाओं के मुकुटरत्नों की कांति से शोभित और नम्र जनों को गरिमा तथा श्रेष्ठ नेतृत्व देने वाली श्रीगुरु पादुकाओं को नमस्कार।

Salutations to the Guru’s sandals, shining with the jewel-radiance of kings’ crowns, granting dignity and noble leadership to those who bow.

pāpāndhakārārkaparamparābhyāṃ tāpatrayāhīndrakhageśvarābhyām | jāḍyābdhisaṃśoṣaṇavāḍavābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām ||6||

पाप-अंधकार के सूर्य, तापत्रय रूप सर्पों के लिए गरुड़ और जड़ता-सागर को सुखाने वाली वाडवाग्नि समान श्रीगुरु पादुकाओं को नमस्कार।

Salutations to the Guru’s sandals, sun to the darkness of sin, Garuda to the serpents of the three sufferings, and submarine fire drying the ocean of dullness.

śamādiṣaṭkapradavaibhavābhyāṃ samādhidānavratadīkṣitābhyām | ramādhavāṅghristhirabhaktidābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām ||7||

शम आदि षट्संपत्ति देने वाली, समाधि का व्रत कराने वाली और माधवचरणों में स्थिर भक्ति देने वाली श्रीगुरु पादुकाओं को नमस्कार।

Salutations to the Guru’s sandals, which grant the sixfold virtues beginning with peace, initiate the vow of samadhi, and give steady devotion to the feet of Madhava.

svārcāparāṇāmakhileṣṭadābhyāṃ svāhāsahāyākṣadhurandharābhyām | svāntācchabhāvapradapūjanābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām ||8||

सच्चे उपासकों को योग्य फल देने वाली और पूजा द्वारा अंतःकरण की शुद्धता प्रदान करने वाली श्रीगुरु पादुकाओं को नमस्कार।

Salutations to the Guru’s sandals, which grant worthy aims to sincere worshippers and purify the inner heart through reverent worship.

kāmādisarpavrajagāruḍābhyāṃ vivekavairāgyanidhipradābhyām | bodhapradābhyāṃ drutamokṣadābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām ||9||

काम आदि सर्पों के लिए गरुड़, विवेक-वैराग्य की निधि देने वाली, बोध और शीघ्र मोक्ष देने वाली श्रीगुरु पादुकाओं को नमस्कार।

Salutations to the Guru’s sandals, Garuda to serpents such as desire, givers of discrimination and detachment, givers of awakening and swift liberation.
