वैध इच्छाओं को देवी के सामने रखने की भारतीय परम्परा - स्वास्थ्य, सन्तान, सफलता, प्रेम के लिए - आध्यात्मिक भौतिकवाद नहीं बल्कि यह मान्यता है कि देवी मानव जीवन के सभी आयामों को नियन्त्रित करती हैं। जो महिला अच्छे विवाह के लिए प्रार्थना करती है और जो साधु मुक्ति के लिए - दोनों एक ही देवी से वैध अनुरोध कर रहे हैं।
