देवताओं की माँ - वह आदि-स्रोत जिनसे समस्त देवी-देवता अपनी शक्ति, ज्ञान और अस्तित्व ग्रहण करते हैं

कई भारतीय घरों की पूजा-वेदी पर अनेक देवताओं की मूर्तियाँ होती हैं - दुर्गा के साथ लक्ष्मी, गणेश के पास सरस्वती। इस व्यवस्था का अन्तर्निहित दर्शन 'देवमातृ' है: ये सभी दिव्य रूप एक ही स्त्री स्रोत से उत्पन्न हैं। सभी देवों को प्रणाम अन्ततः माँ तक पहुँचता है।
