The daughter of the Sun, the noonday power that brings all things forth into being

सरस्वती

The flowing one, the third sandhya form, goddess of speech and the ripened word

देवमाता

Devamātā

ॐ देवमात्रे नमः

The mother of the gods, from whose light every shining one is born

वेदगर्भा

Vedagarbhā

ॐ वेदगर्भायै नमः

She whose womb holds the Vedas, in whom all sacred knowledge lies unborn

वेदजननी

Vedajananī

ॐ वेदजनन्यै नमः

The bearer of the Vedas, she who gives birth to sacred sound

श्रुतिमाता

Śrutimātā

ॐ श्रुतिमात्रे नमः

The mother of that which is heard, source of all revealed scripture

She whose very form is the Veda, the living body of revelation

The power of Rudra, the dusk-form of the sandhya who dissolves the day into dark stillness

The auspicious power of Shankara, the sandhya-shakti who blesses all three worship-hours

माहेश्वरी

Māheśvarī

The child, the dawn-form of Gayatri who is fresh and red as the newborn morning

The maiden, the untouched luminous girlhood of the Goddess between child and youth

The youthful one, the noon-form of Gayatri in the full white blaze of her strength

The blooming young woman, Gayatri in the tender vigour of her rising prime

The aged one, the dusk-form of Gayatri, dark and wise as the descending night

ॐ प्रातःसन्ध्यायै नमः

The dawn-twilight, the sacred juncture where night meets day, Gayatri's first worship-hour

माध्याह्निकी

Mādhyāhnikī

ॐ माध्याह्निक्यै नमः

The midday one, the noon sandhya of Gayatri worshipped at the sun's full height

सायंसन्ध्या

The dusk-twilight, the evening juncture where day dissolves into night, Gayatri's last worship-hour

The white-hued one, Gayatri at noon shining pure white like the sun at its zenith

The dark-hued one, Gayatri at dusk deepening into the black of the gathering night

हंसवाहिनी

Haṃsavāhinī

ॐ हंसवाहिन्यै नमः

She who rides the swan, Gayatri at dawn borne on the discerning white haṃsa

गरुडवाहिनी

Garuḍavāhinī

ॐ गरुडवाहिन्यै नमः

She who rides Garuda, Gayatri at noon borne on the mighty eagle of Vishnu
