अज

The unborn one, existing before all creation

जो कभी जन्मे नहीं, जो सृष्टि से पहले से हैं और सदा रहेंगे

जब बच्चे पूछते हैं कि 'भगवान को किसने बनाया?' तो दादा-दादी कहते हैं — शिव अज हैं, अजन्मे हैं, उन्हें किसी ने नहीं बनाया। Philosophy के students जब existentialism पढ़ते हैं, तो अज की concept उन्हें एक अलग perspective देती है। मृत्यु के बाद तेरहवीं या श्राद्ध में जब पंडित जी कहते हैं कि आत्मा अजर-अमर है, तो वो अज शिव का ही तत्व समझा रहे होते हैं।
