भारत में 'पूज्य' सम्मान है — पूज्य पिताजी, पूज्य गुरुजी। पर सर्वपूज्य भगवान ही एकमात्र हैं जो सबके द्वारा पूजनीय हैं — गुरु भी भगवान की पूजा करते हैं, माता-पिता भी करते हैं, राजा भी करते हैं। जब तिरुमला में कलेक्टर भी उसी कतार में खड़ा हो जहाँ किसान — दोनों एक ही सर्वपूज्य को पूज रहे हैं।
