तन्तुवर्धनः

सृष्टि के तन्तु (धागे) को बढ़ाने और मज़बूत करने वाले

पिछला नाम तन्तु बुनने वाला था, यह नाम तन्तु बढ़ाने वाला है। जब परिवार का वंश आगे बढ़ता है, जब गुरु-शिष्य परम्परा अगली पीढ़ी तक पहुँचती है, जब किसी गाँव का स्कूल बड़ा होकर कॉलेज बनता है, वो तन्तुवर्धन है। भारत में 'कुल-परम्परा' (family tradition) को बनाए रखना और आगे बढ़ाना सबसे बड़ा धर्म माना जाता है। तन्तुवर्धन भगवान उसी परम्परा को सुदृढ़ करते हैं।
