अमरप्रभुः

The lord of the immortals, sovereign of all deathless beings

अमरों (देवताओं) के प्रभु, अमर सत्ताओं के सार्वभौम स्वामी

अमरप्रभु एक नया नाम है जो पहले नहीं आया। देवता 'अमर' (deathless) कहलाते हैं क्योंकि उन्होंने समुद्र मन्थन का अमृत पीया। लेकिन देवताओं का भी 'मालिक' (पrabhu) कोई है, और वो अमरप्रभु विष्णु हैं। भारतीय पुराणों में इन्द्र का पद बदलता है (हर मन्वन्तर में नया इन्द्र), लेकिन अमरप्रभु कभी नहीं बदलते। CEO बदले, Chairman वही रहे।
