प्रपितामहः

The great-grandfather of all creation, the ancestor of even Brahma

सम्पूर्ण सृष्टि के प्रपितामह (परदादा), ब्रह्मा के भी पूर्वज

ब्रह्मा को 'पितामह' (grandfather of creation) कहते हैं। प्रपितामह भगवान विष्णु ब्रह्मा के भी 'पितामह' (ब्रह्मा के दादा = प्रपितामह) हैं। गीता (11.39) में अर्जुन कहता है 'पितासि लोकस्य चराचरस्य,' आप चराचर जगत के पिता हैं। प्रपितामह इससे भी आगे है: पिता के भी पिता के भी पिता। भारतीय संयुक्त परिवार में 'प्रपितामह' (great-grandfather) सबसे सम्मानित हैं। भगवान सृष्टि के प्रपितामह हैं।
