सुषेण रामायण में प्रसिद्ध वानर-चिकित्सक हैं जिन्होंने लक्ष्मण को संजीवनी बूटी से बचाया। सुषेण भगवान वो हैं जिनकी 'सु-सेना' (excellent army) है। भारतीय सशस्त्र बल भगवान की 'सु-सेना' हैं। जब सेना बाढ़-राहत में जाती है, वो सुषेण-शक्ति है।
