Bhima Fights Baka
Yudhishthira accepts his mother's reasoning and asks that the matter be kept from the townspeople. Bhima has the brahmin and the citizens feed him, then drives a cart of food to Baka's grisly tree and sits down to eat the rakshasa's offering himself, ignoring Baka's threats and blows until he has finished. A fierce fight follows, with trees, rocks and bare hands, that lays the land waste for two yojanas around; at last Bhima pins Baka, breaks his back across his knee, and blood pours from the rakshasa's mouth.
