The Serpents Obey and the Sisters Fly over the Sea

Fearing their mother's curse and hoping she will lift it if she is pleased, the serpents agree to darken the horse's tail and settle on it as black hairs. Kadru and Vinata, the daughters of Daksha, fly through the sky over the ocean, and the description of the sea is given again. This adhyaya belongs to the vulgate recension; only its closing stanza has a counterpart in the critical edition.
