Brahma Sends Agni to Krishna and Arjuna; Arjuna Asks for Weapons

Defeated and despairing, Agni returns to Brahma, who tells him to wait: Nara and Narayana will help him burn the forest. When the two have been born as Arjuna and Krishna, Brahma sends Agni to them, promising that together they will hold back the creatures and Indra himself. Vaishampayana closes his digression, and Arjuna answers Agni: he has divine weapons, but he needs a bow equal to his strength, inexhaustible arrows, a chariot with white divine horses, a weapon worthy of Krishna, and a way of holding off Indra's rain.
