The Quarter of the North Sends Ashtavakra Home

Yudhishthira asks how the woman was unafraid of a curse and how the sage held back. Bhishma tells how Ashtavakra asked her why she changed her form, and she revealed herself as the northern quarter, who had tested his steadiness; because he did not yield he had won the worlds. She explained why he had been sent, blessed him and let him go home. Ashtavakra reported to the brahmin who had sent him, was given the maiden in marriage, and lived happily in his own hermitage.
