Krishna Saves the Pandavas from Durvasas

Durvasas arrives at the Pandavas' forest dwelling with his ten thousand disciples just after Draupadi has eaten, accepts Yudhishthira's invitation and goes off to bathe. With no food left, Draupadi prays to Krishna, who comes at once, asks her for food himself and eats a single morsel of vegetable clinging to the rim of the Sun's vessel, praying that the soul of the universe be satisfied. At that moment the sages in the river feel utterly sated; fearing the Pandavas' anger, Durvasas and his disciples flee. Krishna reassures the brothers and departs, and Vaishampayana closes by saying that all such schemes of Dhritarashtra's sons came to nothing.
