Urvashi Curses Arjuna

Seeing that Arjuna's eyes rest on Urvashi, Indra sends the Gandharva Chitrasena to ask her to go to him, and she agrees gladly. Adorned for love, she comes to Arjuna's house at night, but he greets her as an elder: as the mother of the Paurava line she is to him like Kunti, Madri and Shachi, and he covers his ears at her proposal. Spurned, Urvashi curses him to live among women as a dancer, without manhood; Indra comforts his son that the curse will serve him for one year, during the Pandavas' thirteenth year in hiding.
