Kali Vows to Ruin Nala
Returning from the svayamvara, the gods meet Kali and Dvapara on their way to it. Indra tells Kali that Damayanti has already chosen Nala, and Kali, enraged that she preferred a man to the gods, demands that she be punished. The gods answer that she chose with their consent, praise Nala's learning and virtue, and warn that whoever curses him will destroy himself and sink into hell. When they have gone, Kali declares that he will enter Nala and drive him from his kingdom, and asks Dvapara to enter the dice to help him.
