Dhritarashtra Asks Leave for the Funeral Rites; Bhima's Anger
At dawn Dhritarashtra sends Vidura to Yudhishthira with word that he will leave for the forest on the coming full moon of Kartika and wishes, with Yudhishthira's leave, to give funeral offerings for Bhishma, Drona, Somadatta, Bahlika, his sons and his other slain friends. Yudhishthira and Arjuna welcome the request, but Bhima, remembering Duryodhana's wrongs, will not consent; Arjuna pleads that the old king deserves this, and Bhima answers bitterly, until Yudhishthira rebukes him into silence.
