Bhima Sets Out, Cuts Down Dhritarashtra's Sons and Shatters Drona's Chariot

Bhima promises Yudhishthira to find Arjuna and Satyaki, entrusts the king to Dhrishtadyumna, who vows that Drona will not seize him without first killing him, and, blessed by Yudhishthira, sets out in his chariot. When the roar of Panchajanya comes again, Yudhishthira urges him on; Bhima charges, and Dhritarashtra's sons surround him, but he kills Kundabhedin, Sushena, Dirghanetra, Vrindaraka, Abhaya, Raudrakarman, Durvimochana, Vinda, Anuvinda, Suvarman and Sudarshana and scatters the rest. He then meets Drona, who bars his way; after an angry exchange Bhima hurls his mace, Drona leaps down, and his chariot is smashed. Bhima ranges on through the army while Drona mounts another chariot.
