Duryodhana Entreats Drona to Lead the Army

Having heard Karna, Duryodhana goes to Drona in the midst of the army and asks him to take the command. He praises Drona's birth, learning, age and valor, compares him to the foremost among gods and beings, offers him eleven akshauhinis, and says he will surely conquer Yudhishthira if Drona leads. The assembled kings shout victory to Drona, and the soldiers cheer, as Drona prepares to answer.
