Karna Parva · Adhyaya 101

The Kurus Flee and the Pandavas Rejoice; the End of Karna Parva

After Karna's fall the Kuru army breaks and flees, and Duryodhana, with Shalya's consent, calls the retreat and makes camp. The Pandavas and Panchalas congratulate Yudhishthira, Krishna and Yudhishthira exchange praise, and the king drives out to see Karna lying dead. Sanjaya tells Dhritarashtra that this ruin came of his own ill counsel; the king and Gandhari collapse and are comforted, Sanjaya returns to the camp and later brings Dhritarashtra the news from the field, and the parva closes with the fruit of reciting or hearing it.
