Karna Routs the Pandava Host
Dhritarashtra asks what Duryodhana and the others did once Bhima had broken the Kaurava armies, and what Karna did in turn. Sanjaya tells how Karna, with Shalya driving, rushes the Panchalas; the Pandava champions surround him and wound him, and he cuts down their banners and chariots and routs the Chedis, Matsyas and Panchalas, standing alone like Death among the Somakas. The Kaurava warriors then join the slaughter, and the adhyaya closes with ruin falling on both armies when they meet Bhima.
