Dire Omens and the Taunts of Bhima and Duryodhana

As the war of words begins, Dhritarashtra laments that his son goes alone and on foot to fight. When Duryodhana challenges Bhima, terrible omens appear, and Bhima tells Yudhishthira that he will end their sorrows that day. He recounts the wrongs done to the Pandavas and the kinsmen and heroes already slain, and vows to kill Duryodhana with his mace. Duryodhana answers that boasting frightens no one and welcomes the duel; the kings applaud, and Bhima rushes at him.
