Good Character: Prahlada, Indra and the Departure of Shri
Yudhishthira asks how good character is gained. Bhishma tells how Duryodhana, grieving at the Pandavas' prosperity, was answered by Dhritarashtra with the old tale of Prahlada. Indra, disguised as a brahmin, served Prahlada and asked for his good character as a boon; when it left him, Dharma, Truth, Conduct, Strength and finally Shri followed it. Dhritarashtra then sums up good character as harmlessness, kindness and giving, and urges Duryodhana to cultivate it.
